Friends has undoublty been recognized as one of the most iconic television series of our time, and has famously managed to keep the interest of every single generation since it first aired way back in 1994.

The success of the show helped launch the careers of some of Hollywood's most recognizable faces today and have had fans desperate for a follow-up ever since the season finale. It's been over 20 years since many of these budding celebrities landed their breakthrough role in the comedy sitcom and while some continued their career with television others ventured into film.

Now, decades later, the male heartthrobs Matthew Perry (Chandler Bing), Matt LeBlanc (Joey Tribbiani), and David Schwimmer (Ross Geller) are still taking on numerous other roles and have even been successful on the big screen. Even with all their other projects, we are still looking forward to that rumored Friends reunion, which seems to be closer then we think. 20 David Got Married In 2010

David Schwimmer is known for being a very private guy and generally tends to keep quiet about his love life. The actor met his future wife,  Zoë Buckman in 2007. The couple married after 3 years of dating but announced their split in 2017. It is unclear if the pair actually got divorced or not.

19 He Had His Daughter Cloe in 2011

David welcomed his first and only daughter Cleo Buckman Schwimmer in 2011 with his wife at the time, Zoë Buckman. David was reportedly extremely happy to be a father and previously told USWeekly of being a dad. "Every day she makes me laugh… It's thrilling to see the changes."

18 He’s Made Appearances On Curb Your Enthusiasm And Will & Grace

David has made appearances on a lot of popular television shows such as 30 Rock and Curb Your Enthusiasm. He also guest-starred on the British comedy series Come Fly With Me in 2011. He even had a recurring 5 episode role on NBC's revival of Will & Grace, playing Grace's love interest, Noah.

17 He Portrayed Robert Kardashian On the Docu-series: The People v O J Simpson: American Crime Story

In 2016, Schwimmer portrayed Robert Kardashian in the first season of the FX anthology series American Crime Story subtitled The People v O. J. Simpson.  The season received much praise for its writing and won 9 out of the 13 Primetime Emmy Award nominations it received.  It also won the Golden Globe Awards for Best Miniseries or Television Film.

16 Schwimmer Voiced Melman, The Giraffe In The Madagascar Franchise

Schwimmer also enjoyed a recurring voice acting role as Melman, the lovable hypochondriac giraffe in the popular Madagascar franchise. All three main movies have been a huge success and it is rumored that there will most likely be a fourth installment in the franchise. The cast features many talented voices like Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, and Jada Pinkett Smith.

15 He Joined The Netflix Cast For The Laundromat

The film is a biographical comedy-drama based on the Panama Papers Scandal which stars  Schwimmer alongside Meryl Streep, Gary Oldman, and Antonio Banderas. The film follows a widow investigating insurance fraud and chasing leads to the Panama City law firm Mossack Fonseca. A couple of months after the release the lawyers portrayed in the film filed a defamation suit against Netflix however the jury is still out in California.

14 He Appeared In The Caine Mutiny On Broadway

Amongst David Schwimmer's other projects he also appeared in The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial which was his Broadway debut. David has always been an active member of the theatre community and is the founder of Chicago's Lookingglass Theatre Company and he even appeared on the London stage in Neil LaBute’s Some Girl.

13 He Has A New Series Coming In February

Taking another crack at sitcom, David will next be seen in the eagerly anticipated comedy series, Intelligence.  The series will air in February of this year and follows an NSA agent (Schwimmer) who teams up with a computer analyst to form a new cybercrimes unit in the UK's Government Communications Headquarters.

12 Matthew Perry Found Success In Big-Screen Comedies Such As 17 Again

His next big break would come in 2009 when he starred in the beloved movie 17 again alongside Zac Efron and the very talented Leslie Mann. According to a 2009 GMTV interview with Zac Efron, the young star would actually call up Matthew in the middle of the night to read lines or to get Perry's advice.

11 In 2011 He Co-Created ‘Mr. Sunshine’

Amonst all his other endeavors, in 2011 he starred in ‘Mr. Sunshine’ which he also co-created. However, the show was short-lived and canceled due to low ratings. In an interview with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, Matthew revealed he had been writing for television for over the past 10 years.

10 He Admitted Himself Into Rehab For A Third Time

Matthew, who has not really enjoyed the level of success that he did with Friends in the later years, has always remained perseverant about his goal of staying sober. He admitted himself to rehab for the third time in 2011. The star told TMZ that despite not having relapsed. He is admitting himself as a pre-emptive measure.

9 Perry Played A Recurring Role On The Legal Drama, The Good Wife

Perry has appeared on TV pretty consistently since the season finale of Friends. He had a recurring role on the legal drama The Good Wife and reappeared for its spinoff, The Good Fight back in 2017.  He plays the character we love to hate as the Republican rival to the main character Alicia's husband Peter Florrick.

8 Perry Starred In A Revival Of The Odd Couple, Alongside Thomas Lennon

Taking another crack at sitcom, the Friends alum Matthew Perry also starred in the 2016 reboot of The Odd Couple. Perry also developed and executive produced the series which received mixed reviews from critics and struggled with its ratings. Ultimately, the show was canceled in 2017, after only three seasons.

7 The Actor Had Been Rushed To The Hospital With A Ruptured Bowel

In the summer of 2018, it was reported that the actor had been rushed to the hospital with a ruptured bowel. Perry, 50, tweeted that he spent three months recovering in a hospital bed after he had abdominal surgery to repair a gastrointestinal perforation which can cause severe abdominal pain.

6 LeBlanc Appeared In A Friends Spin-Off Called Joey

After the huge success of Friends, Matt Leblanc scored the starring role in the Friends spin-off, Joey, which saw his character move to Hollywood hoping to make it as an actor. The show ran for 2 seasons but was canceled the series due to poor ratings. It aired from 2004 to 2006.

5 He Took A Hiatus After His Divorce

While he was struggling with Joey’s falling ratings, Matt and his wife Melissa McKnight divorced in 2006. The divorce led him into taking an extended hiatus away from the limelight to focus on being a father. He explained to the Holywood reposter "I want to at least take a year. I don't want to do anything, and that turned into six years."

4 He Was In Another Comedy Series

After Joey’s run came to an end, Matt Leblanc found success in the form of Episodes, on which LeBlanc plays a fictionalized version of himself. The show was well receptive by its viewers and had very positive reviews overall. LeBlanc even won a Golden Globe for his work on the show in 2012.
